JIA Informational Meeting

Jenison International Academy is having an Informational Meeting on May 2nd @ 5:30pm. This is a great opportunity to get your questions answered, see our campus, and meet the amazing staff ready to help and work with your student. During this time our Science and Math staff will also be hosting an Engineering Open House. We are so excited to share details about our programs and answer any questions that you may have for us.

JIA Programs & Opportunities:

STEAM Tech Academy:

STEAM Tech (ST) is an innovative and specialized K-6 program with a project-based, student-centered philosophy. STEAM Tech focuses on the principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Mathematics. All important learning standards are addressed but in a way that engages and motivates students through hands-on learning.

K-6th Full-Time Online:

Elementary School students in grades K-6 are provided mastery-based curriculum, which is delivered and supported by JIA staff, based on an individualized academic plan.  Elementary students utilize a web-based platform with options for participation in weekly STEM education lessons at the JIA Campus.

7th-8th Full-Time Online:

JIA Junior High School provides personalized learning experiences for students in grades 7-8 by providing mastery-based programming with flexible options. Our committed staff at JIA understands that junior high is a time of transition when students need a stable learning environment that fosters a positive atmosphere of cooperation and respect. By challenging students with high expectations, students grow as critical thinkers and life-long learners.

9th-12th Full-Time Online:

JIA Senior High School provides personalized learning experiences for students in grades 9-12 by providing the highest quality learning opportunities with flexible options. Our committed senior high staff believes in challenging students with high expectations that help them grow as critical thinkers and life-long learners to reach their post-secondary goals. JIA Senior High provides a rigorous curriculum to prepare students to be successful citizens in our ever-changing world. With Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement, online, and blended options, JIA students truly receive a personalized educational plan.

Engineering Pathway:

JIA Senior High offers a college preparatory Engineering program for students in grades 9-12. The Engineering Program is for students who are interested in designing and developing solutions to solve real-world problems. To explore the field of engineering, the engineering program incorporates Project Lead the Way’s (PLTW) robust curriculum developed by businesses, teachers, parents, and students. The project-based engineering curriculum engages students in hands-on projects to improve the quality of life, while designing environmentally benign products affording a sustainable future.

GRCC Dual Enrollment:

Students can earn up to 25 college credits through our Grand Rapids Community College Dual Enrollment options. We offer GRCC Math and English courses on site at our Local Campus. These classes include EN101, EN102, MA131, & MA133.

Homeschool Partnership:

Jenison International Academy is excited to offer elective course options to current homeschool students and their families for grades K-12. There are many opportunities to select from with each course facilitated by a JIA teacher in a partnership with each family. Courses are free to families who reside in West Michigan, specifically in the following counties: Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, and Ottawa.

We will also be holding an Engineering Open House on May 2nd during the informational meeting. This open house is for anyone who wants to learn more about the engineering opportunities that we have to offer, including the engineering pathway and the curriculum we use. This is also a great time to meet our staff and ask questions!

The JIA Informational Meeting and Engineering Open House on May 2nd will take place at our Local Campus: 800 Connie St. Jenison, MI 49428. It will start at 5:30pm and end around 6:30pm. We hope to see you there!
